4-Day Desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Overview

This thrilling 4-day itinerary highlights the very best of Morocco, such as the Draa valley, the Desert, and Dades valley. The tour starts from the imperial town of Marrakech and traverses the High Atlas mountain range through the Sahara Desert. Spend the night such as conventional Berbers at a Bedouin desert camp before going through the Dades valley and completing your journey in bustling Marrakech.

What to Expect from this 4-Day Desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

This 4-day tour begins from Marrakech where you’ll wander the narrow alleys of the old medina. You will see lovely examples of Moroccan architecture like the oldest Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On day two enjoy changing the scenery in the hills, to palm tree oases, and the desert on the way to Merzouga. A short camel trek is planned. In Merzouga, you can climb the dunes to see a romantic sunset, then enjoy a traditional dinner next to the campfire where local Berbers will amuse you with Berber music. In the event, the weather agrees you are able to spend the night beneath the stars. The next day, we wake you up early to see the sunrise over the dunes before going into the conventional Saharan village of Khemliya where we’ll enjoy traditional Gnawa music.

Later on, we are going in the direction of Rissani and visiting its well-knowing Market. Then we take a short walk across the profound Todra Gorge near Tinerhir. In the afternoon, we continue to Dades valley where you will spend the night. The next day, we take a tour of Atlas film studio, where you are going to observe the collections of films like Gladiator. Afterward, we drive back to Marrakech.

My friends and I just got back from Morocco and we spent an amazing 4 days on the desert Safari trip from Marrakech to Merzouga. All was very well coordinated, the guide was nice, knowledgeable and gave us a safe feeling from the begining to the end. The scenery was stunning — from the Atlas Mountains to the infinite dunes of the Sahara. The star attraction was riding camels at sunset and spending the night at a desert camp, under a star-studded sky. It was an experience I will never forget and really showed us what Morrocan culture and hospitality were all about! Highly recommended!
